Young Boy’s Michael Jackson-Inspired Performance of ‘I Want You Back’ Captivates Millions on TikTok
Gabriel Goldsmith, a young singer from Barrow, has gone viral after his powerful Michael Jackson-style performance of The Jackson 5 classic “I Want You Back” surpassed two million views on TikTok. The heartfelt rendition earned nearly 350,000 likes and thousands of positive comments, drawing worldwide praise for his remarkable talent.
The viral video, uploaded earlier this week, features Gabriel Goldsmith delivering the iconic Motown hit with striking energy and vocal style reminiscent of Michael Jackson. His heartfelt performance has resonated with audiences around the world, accumulating nearly 350,000 likes and more than 4,500 comments, all overwhelmingly positive.
Gabriel’s performance gained additional attention following the recent theatrical release of Michael, a motion picture depicting the life and career of Michael Jackson, which premiered in cinemas at the end of last month.
His mother, Hannah Goldsmith, said she was astonished by the scale of the response after posting the video on TikTok.
“We honestly did not expect it,” she said. “We thought it might make a few people smile, but two million views is something we never imagined.”
She added that the reaction from viewers has been extraordinary.
“The response has been incredible. There have been more than 4,500 comments, and every one of them has been wonderfully positive,” Hannah said.
According to his mother, Gabriel has shown a natural passion for performing from a very young age. By the age of two, he was already singing well-known songs such as We Are the Champions and Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.
Hannah said that Gabriel spends much of his time singing at home and that she and her husband, Antony Goldsmith, are immensely proud of their son’s talent and enthusiasm.
Despite the overwhelming success of the video, Gabriel remains largely unaware of the magnitude of his newfound fame.
“He does not really understand the scale of it all, and I do not think he realises just how talented he is,” Hannah said. “For him, it is simply about singing and enjoying himself, but knowing that others enjoy it too makes him very happy.”
Gabriel Goldsmith’s viral performance has not only delighted millions of viewers but also highlighted the extraordinary talent and innocence of a young performer whose love for music continues to inspire audiences across the world.
